Our Programs

1. Foundational English (Beginner Track)

This track serves as a vital first step for adult learners who are completely new to English or have only limited exposure. It focuses on real-world usage—introductions, greetings, directions, numbers, dates, and basic social exchanges. Lessons are grounded in practical, everyday contexts such as markets, transport, and workplace settings, helping learners gain confidence and basic fluency in reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Special attention is given to pronunciation and listening comprehension, ensuring that learners are able to communicate clearly and understand others in day-to-day interactions.

The Foundational English program is ideal for domestic workers, vendors, artisans, drivers, and first-time learners seeking to open new personal and professional doors through language.

“Start where you are. Speak with confidence. Grow without limits.”

2. Workplace English (Professional Communication Track)

Language is a tool for productivity, and this track is designed for individuals who already have a grasp of basic English but want to improve their workplace effectiveness. From formal greetings to handling complaints, negotiating deadlines, or writing a professional email, this program prepares learners to communicate with greater precision, clarity, and professionalism in diverse work settings.

Each module targets a real-world communication task—whether it’s interacting with an English-speaking supervisor, resolving a customer issue, answering business calls, or giving a simple presentation. Learners are immersed in simulations that reflect Ivorian workplace realities: from warehouses and hospitals to hotels and banks.

By focusing on verbal and written skills side-by-side, the program helps professionals eliminate common mistakes, gain confidence, and become more competitive in English-required job markets. Whether one is seeking promotion, a new role, or smoother collaboration with international colleagues, this program builds the necessary skills for upward mobility.

“Upgrade your English, elevate your career…”

3. Travel & Migration English

Cross-border movement, whether for seasonal work, education, or permanent migration demands more than just documents. It requires the ability to understand and be understood in key situations. This program equips learners with English communication tools that are essential during immigration processes, travel, and settlement.

Participants learn how to fill out visa applications, answer questions during interviews at embassies or airports, and follow instructions from border officials. The program includes modules on legal and cultural vocabulary, travel announcements, safety protocols, and basic interactions in hotels, clinics, or host communities.

Role-playing and realia (e.g. sample forms, mock interviews) prepare learners for every stage of the journey. For many Ivoirians considering a future abroad, especially in ECOWAS or English-speaking countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Canada, or the UK, this track provides a critical foundation for navigating new environments legally and confidently.

“Your journey begins with the right words.”

4. English for Entrepreneurship & Trade

Business doesn’t stop at the language barrier—and neither should you. This course empowers small business owners, traders, and startup founders to thrive in cross-border markets where English is the dominant language. The program blends practical English learning with entrepreneurial thinking.

Learners explore business-specific vocabulary: sales pitches, product descriptions, quotations, delivery terms, negotiations, and customer correspondence. Whether you’re importing electronics from Nigeria, exporting cocoa-based goods to Ghana, or selling crafts online to tourists, this course helps you represent your business professionally and clearly.

Participants practice scenarios like pitching to investors, engaging at trade fairs, or managing online reviews in English. With support from RECFAM’s economic empowerment framework, this program contributes to self-reliance and growth, giving learners not only language but market access.

“Speak the language of business. Connect beyond borders.”

5. English for Civil Service & Public Sector Workers

Effective public service increasingly requires bilingual or multilingual communication, especially within the West African subregion. This program targets government workers, police officers, immigration personnel, and other civil servants who represent public institutions and frequently encounter English-speaking counterparts or citizens.

Curriculum highlights include diplomatic expression, report writing, briefings, public announcements, inter-agency communication, and managing public inquiries. Participants learn how to speak with authority, clarity, and cultural sensitivity—key traits for those in roles of public trust.

The program aligns with Côte d’Ivoire’s national goals for regional integration and public sector modernization. It enhances communication capacity for events such as ECOWAS meetings, UN training, and bilateral exchanges, ensuring that public officials can engage meaningfully on both local and international platforms.

“Serving the public with clarity, authority, and respect.”

6. Evening and Weekend Intensive Program (FlexiTrack)

Understanding the demands of adult learners, TETC has developed the FlexiTrack model—a flexible learning format that offers the same high-quality instruction within evenings and weekends. Designed for full-time workers, single parents, entrepreneurs, and shift-based employees, FlexiTrack makes learning possible without sacrificing job or family responsibilities.

Courses are delivered in shorter, focused sessions with blended learning options, including mobile-friendly content, tutor check-ins, and offline practice tasks. Learners in this track enjoy structured progress, peer support, and personalized learning schedules.

Each of the centre’s core programs—from beginner to professional tracks—is available under the FlexiTrack format. Whether your goal is to speak English for travel, trade, work, or personal growth, you can pursue it at your pace, on your time, with the full backing of TETC’s academic and mentorship support systems.

“Flexible learning for focused lives.”

7. Virtual English Learning (Digital Access Track)

To ensure that no learner is left behind, Tumi English Training Centre has launched a Virtual English Learning track designed for individuals who cannot consistently attend in-person classes due to work, location, or mobility constraints. This program delivers a full classroom experience through a structured online platform, allowing learners to participate in interactive lessons, complete assignments, and receive tutor feedback—regardless of where they are in Côte d’Ivoire or beyond.

The Digital Access Track is mobile-optimized and data-friendly, using locally relevant content and recorded sessions that learners can revisit on their own schedule. From basic English to professional communication modules, every virtual course maintains the same instructional quality and outcome standards as our face-to-face programs.

Through this innovation, TETC reaffirms its commitment to inclusive adult education by removing physical and geographic barriers to language learning. Whether you live in Abidjan, Bouaké, or a rural region, the door to English proficiency is now only a click away.

“Learn anywhere, anytime; English at your fingertips”

Certified Learning with Lifelong Impact

All TETC programs are led by experienced and qualified English language facilitators who bring not only pedagogical expertise but also a deep understanding of adult education and multicultural learning needs. Instruction is delivered in a supportive, inclusive environment where learners are encouraged to progress at their own pace, with attention to both skill development and personal growth.

Upon successful completion of a program, learners are awarded certificates aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)—an internationally recognized standard for language proficiency.

These certifications reflect the learner’s level of achievement and can be confidently presented for job applications, promotions, or further study.

Additionally, graduates may gain access to post-course opportunities through RECFAM’s Professional Development Network, which offers mentorship, job referrals, capacity-building workshops, and access to training resources. This support ecosystem reinforces TETC’s mission of empowering adult learners not only with language, but with the tools and connections to thrive in professional and global contexts.

TETC!! Where qualified teaching meets global standards…and your journey doesn’t end with a certificate.
